Mayumba National Park International Children's Art Exchange
![]() |
Are you a kid who cares about the environment? Would you like to make a new friend in another country? In Mayumba, there are students who'd like to meet kids like you. Students in Mayumba speak, read, and write in French, but even if you speak another language, you can still send drawings or pictures. Our environmental education theme for 2007-2008 is "Traditions and Nature ", so we're looking to exchange drawings of of the environment where you live, and any traditions your family or culture has about the way you interact with nature. All you need to do is get some drawing paper, and pencils, markers, crayons, or paints, and draw! Remember to write your name, age, and the town and country where you are from on your paper! |
If you do know some French, or have someone who can help you translate, then you can write a short note describing who you are and what your environment is like. Maybe you could write a story or a poem about nature. It's all up to you! Let your imagination run wild, and creativity will take over. Good luck! So, if you'd like to participate, email us at info@mayumbanationalpark.com. We'll match you with a student here, and give you the address for sending your drawings. Hope to hear from you soon! |

| If you are a teacher whose class would like to participate in Mayumba National Park's International Art Exchange, contact us and we'd be pleased to email you a packet of materials to motivate your students, including a flyer with information about the Park and its special animals, and some scans of a few of Mayumba's student drawings. You can also download our 2006-2007 activity report which is full of great photos and information about what's happening in Mayumba's schools. |
